BBQ huts, or cabins, have rapidly grown in popularity are based on the traditional Finnish Grillkota or grill cabin. Grillkotas were used by generations of Sami reindeer herders to come together, gather around the fire and cook the meat from their hunt. Now, BBQ huts are often found in gardens and are used to cook, entertain and provide an all-weather indoor - outdoor eating and socialising environment. Their circular design makes them inherently sociable and by adding some key BBQ hut accessories you can really get the most out of your BBQ hut. 

Dutch oven

Having the right tools to cook and grill in your BBQ hut will really make all the difference. We highly recommend investing in a set of cast iron pans and or a Dutch oven pot. These allow you to cook directly on the charcoals which can be a great way to keep a sauce bubbling away, get some heat quickly into your pan and really make the most of cooking in style in your BBQ cabin. You can pick up a basic set from Amazon for a very reasonable price. 

Rotisserie spit 

A rotisserie spit is a wonderful way to extend the cooking possibilities within your grill cabin. Choose one which folds down into a compact unit for ease of storage and then sit back with a glass of whatever you fancy as it slowly turns working its magic and soak up the atmosphere. Perfect! 

Safety accessories

BBQs and cooking are synonymous with heat so BBQ or safety gloves are a must as are utensils with long handles. A standard set of BBQ utensils with long handles will fit the bill perfectly!

Charcoal

Let's not forget the most important ingredient of all in your BBQ, the charcoal! We always recommend using a good quality lumpwood charcoal. There can be a surprising amount of difference in charcoal quality and we definitely recommend investing in a good one. Couple this with a natural eco firelighter and you've got the perfect BBQ starter kit!

BBQ accessories for convenience and ease

Trays and cup holders

When people visit our show site, the two accessories they nearly always comment on are the magnetic trays and cup holders we use. These clever trays and holders simply attach via magnets to the central BBQ unit in the cabins. They are ideal for storing utensils, cutlery, a small cutting board as well as mugs and bottles. They fit perfectly onto the base of the central BBQ unit and are easy to move around the fire as you cook and socialise. Table tops 

When you're not using your BBQ hut, or grill cabin, for cooking our handmade table tops transform the grilling and fire area into a pop up games table, work desk or simply a table for snacks and drinks. Custom made for our BBQ huts, their shape is made to perfectly fit the central cooking area and they are available for both 6 or 8 sided BBQ areas. 

Log braziers 

A super popular accessory with our customers, log braziers quickly convert your charcoal BBQ pit into a beautiful log burner. Perfect for cosy winter evenings relaxing by the fire. 

Accessories for style and décor 

Bench cushions and curtains 

The bench seats in our BBQ huts all back onto outward sloping walls for style and comfort but add custom made bench cushions for even greater comfort. Designed specifically for our bench seats, our bench cushions are stylish, available in a wide range of colours, are washable and stain resistant. Couple these with a luxury set of handmade curtains (again with in your choice of colour) complete with tie backs and you can really add your own stamp to your BBQ hut. 

Reindeer skins

As a nod to their traditional Grillkota, or grill cabin, roots, adding a reindeer skin or two not only adds a cosy cover for a winter's night but also injects traditional Sami heritage into your BBQ hut. We offer two types of reindeer skins, or reindeer hides, standard or premium. Both are exceptional quality, the only difference is our premium reindeer hides are all regular shapes and come without any blemishes. 

LED lighting 

Adding LED lighting to your BBQ hut is not only a practical solution but also is a great way ramp up the ambience. High quality and remotely operated, our beautiful multi-coloured LED’s require a mains electricity supply and provide a fun, one stop lighting solution for your Lodge.

Pictures 

Don't forget to add your favourite pictures and photos to those empty walls to really make it your BBQ hut your own. Hanging accessories from the ceiling can be a great place to add your own accessories (remembering to keep well clear of the grill area and chimney) and will really inject your personality to your BBQ hut.
