WEST COUNTRY BARBECUE HUT SPECIALISTS

Hello... We are Simon and Mel and we’ve been involved with Barbecue Lodges for many years but only recently took ownership of the business. This amazing venture was started by our neighbours Sue & Graham Tout in 2007 after a trip to Lapland inspired them to bring a touch of Scandinavian magic to the South West. As avid skiers and regular travellers to colder climates ourselves, we have always been in love with these beautiful and versatile spaces. Simon has been part of Barbecue Lodges' team for several years and is an expert fitter. When Sue and Graham decided to retire, they offered us the chance to take guardianship of the company,  which we absolutely could not resist and so here we are; The proud new owners of BBQ Lodges.

We’ve been living in Somerset since 2002 and between us have decades of experience in sales & marketing (Mel) and bespoke carpentry (Simon). This made taking over the business a natural progression for us. The craftsmanship, quality and design of our Lodges is second to none. Manufactured here in the UK, their design is based upon the traditional Finnish reindeer herders “Kota” and they are extremely well suited to the variable British weather. Dating back centuries, shelters and lodges were used by the reindeer herders in Scandinavia as they moved across the tundra. They are still used today as emergency shelters and also serve amazingly as commercial tourist attractions in ski resorts and across Lapland. We are a small team here at Barbecue Lodges so if give us a call, you will most likely speak to either Mel or Simon. We have a wide knowledge of the way the lodges are built and how they work. We can answer questions about any stage in the process, from how to build the best base for your lodge to how to hang curtains inside.

Our aim is to offer a professional but personal and friendly service. We also offer bespoke packages from cushions, to lighting, to exterior colours. Mel is on hand in the office or at a show, Simon is usually found in the workshop or on site fitting a lodge.

We have all four sizes fully installed and available to view at our show site just outside Taunton in Somerset. We put the kettle on, offer some home-made cake and light the fire.
